A PSUP III Country Team has met on Tuesday 23 February, 2021 to review and finalize the Country Team Terms of Reference (TOR). The TOR was developed by UNHabitat in consultation with MIA which emphasized roles and responsibilities of the Country Team for implementing the PSUP III.
In the remarks delivered by the Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Internal Affairs in opening the workshop meeting, Ms Tebantaake Keariki acknowledged the important role of the Country Team (CT) in implementing PSUP III in Kiribati, and stressed the importance of having the TOR for the CT as a mechanism to guide and ensure accomplishments of PSUP III through outlining roles and responsibilities for CT.
The Country Team was composed of relevant Government Ministries, State Owned Enterprises, NGOs and Civil Societies, Academia, Media, local communities and donor partners.
Kiribati along with other 39 ACP countries participated in the PSUP III – an initiative borne out of a tripartite partnership of European Commission, African Caribbean and Pacific Islands (ACP) Group of States and UNHabitat that aim at improving and elevating the living conditions of the slum dwellers – informal settlements in Kiribati context.
